Do you remember the old game of battleships? These puzzles are a solitaire version based on that idea. The object of each puzzle is to find the locations of the 10 ships in the fleet hidden in a section of ocean represented by the 10-by-10 grid. The fleet consists of one battleship (four grid squares in length), two cruisers (each three squares long), three destroyers (each two squares long), and four submarines (one square each). The ships might be lying horizontally or vertically, but must not appear in adjacent squares, even diagonally. Numbers along the side and top of the grid show you how many parts of the ship can be found in each row or column. Click on each cell multiple times to set different parts of ships.

The puzzles are given six ranks, indicated on the top of the puzzles. There are a total of 108 puzzles starting from easiest to hardest.

The levels are...

Level 1-10 Seaman
Level 11-30 Petty Officer
Level 31-50 Ensign
Level 51-70 Captain
Level 71-90 Commodore
Level 91-108 Admiral

A salute and a tip of our cap to anyone who can solve all the Admiral puzzles. Good luck and ahoy!

Could be 5 stars with a simple improvement
Absolutely needs an "undo" button. If you make a mistake, there is no ability to clear the square. Please fix. This would dramatically improve game play!
Needs some improvement!
Ive played similar battleship solitaire games and this one definitely needs some work. Theres no undo button, so if you make a mistake, you have to start all over from scratch. The ships should be smart enough to determine which part of the ship goes where. I shouldnt have to mark the front and back of the ship. There is no hint button. Im on level 2 and cannot solve this by logic. It will be trial and error until I get it right. Thats not a fun way to play these so called logic games.
Faithful reproduction of pen and paper game
Remember Games magazine? Then you may remember the solitaire puzzles based on Battleship. Missing features: undo and clear a cell are sorely lacking.

I would give it five stars, but in the middle of a game, there needs to be a way to clear a tile (i.e., a button that removes all water/ship icons). Also important: a way to turn off sound within the game. I would love for future updates to add a save option.
